Q. Is it important that the plastic is clean and free from residue before I compact it in the Wholly Shrink!?
A. Remove as much product as possible from the packaging (it will even improve your compaction). If it’s meat packaging, just rinse and dry prior to placing into the Wholly Shrink!.
Q. What can I recycle and what can’t I recycle into the Wholly Shrink!?
A. It’s more than the fruit and vegies produce bags! You can compact any soft plastic pieces that contain the correct ARL sign. You will find a detailed list of what can or can’t be recycled here.
Q. What is the Wholly Shrink! device made of? Is it Recycled plastic/material?
A. Yes! The Wholly Shrink! device is made of 100% recycled plastic. A lot of the material is from soft plastic including material from TerraCycle ® who manage recycling solutions for hard-to-recycle products and packages.
Q. What are the available sizes? I have a small apartment/unit and not much space.
A. After much feedback from our early adopters, we have only created one size of Shrinker! It is about 220mm high, 113mm diameter and fits perfectly under a sink or in a cupboard. Although we’d encourage you to have it visible so collecting soft plastic is effortless.
Q. Will it fit easily under the sink?
A. Yes, it should fit easily under the sink. We are always learning so if you have some ideas please e-mail us on info@whollyshrink.com.
Q. Is this something that our council could be supporting?
A. We have approached a number of councils and are working with them to evaluate what is feasible. Councils listen to their constituents, so if you think this is a great initiative, let them know about us. We can be contacted on info@whollyshrink.com.
Q. How much does it actually shrink?
A. Without applying a superhuman force our customers are getting about a 70% compaction.
Q. What type of liner bag fits the Wholly Shrink!?
A. In our experience, the best liners are the bread bag packaging. Please don’t purchase bags specifically for this… that would be counter-productive! Re-use packaging or bags you were going to throw away. Any bag that is long enough (at least 300mm long) would work. If you want to
“compact the shrink out of it” double or triple up so the bag is even stronger and doesn’t tear when you take it out from the Wholly Shrink!
Q. Is this only for homes or can it work in offices and schools?
A. Actually, we think the Wholly Shrink! would be a great option for office spaces, schools and other more public areas. If you believe your business needs Wholly Shrink! in its life, please contact us at info@whollyshrink.com.
Q. Where can I see more of the Shrinkers! in action?
A. Please follow us on our Facebook page or Instagram. We regularly post videos of the device in action and our users give us feedback too. https://www.instagram.com/whollyshrink/
